Seniors Christmas

Our ‘SENIORS CHRISTMAS’ Initiative allows us to serve seniors and reduce the disastrous effects of the perfect storm of: mandatory retirement, rising healthcare costs, the closure of the indigent clinic, the increase of food costs, and the loneliness that can arise during holidays. We strive each year to increase the numbers of beneficiaries of our services. The number of recipients/beneficiaries that we serve is driven both by word-of-mouth and our partnership with Age Concern. As the economic recession continues, more and more families and seniors are relying on our work; for instance we have already been contacted about our Seniors’ Christmas gift card and it is only October. Our anecdotal evidence lets us know that the gift cards give Seniors’ a sense of calm that they can now afford their necessities of life. It is relatively simple for GSP to measure the Outcome of its services as the partnerships we have, and the services we provide are easily quantifiable. E.g. In 2014, we provided gift cards to approximately 95 seniors, and in 2015 we are geared to increase that number to 115; we would like to give 150 seniors a gift card in 2016.
